My deviantART Story Begins Six Years Ago
I have been a digital artist and award winning web designer for nearly 16 years and became increasingly tired of paying the inflating fees at microstock sites such as iStockphoto, so I decided I'd try using my own images in my client work. I received a lot of great feedback from clients so after a few months I became completely self reliant on my own image bank for client work. It was highly rewarding to know that a design I created relied 100% on me from coding to graphics and photography!
I had not even heard of deviantART until 6 years ago. I then signed up on an account that has since been deactivated. During my 2 years of maintaining this interface design account I was contracted to redesign the Australian Ghost Hunter's Association's ghost story website, Castle of Spirits. I was hired by the founder to fully revamp the website as well as create a few free downloadable wallpapers and screen savers. This was a huge move from doing strictly corporate designs as I was given carte blanche and was encouraged to be as creative as possible. I searched the microstock sites for suitable model stock for Gothic, romantic, tragic images in order to create wallpapers... no luck! Then, I decided I may try deviantART. I figured I'd have to find a photographer, ask permission and/or pay to license their imagery. Imagine my delighted surprise to find the likes of faestock, Elandria and auroradreams who offered images that were exactly like I was looking for and offered them for free! I believe I really did shout out "Hallelujah!"

After being saved by these lovely ladies I decided to try giving back to this wonderful community! Thus, my stock account was created 5 years ago. I tested the waters with a few landscapes inspired by the work of boldfrontiers, Burtn, Malleni-Stock and EveLivesey. I hope to be able to travel more often to bring you guys stock found in no other place but Texas as we have a lot to offer here.
We finally stepped into the model stock world about 3-4 years ago after being inspired by so many of the model stock providers here at deviantART. When Seth needs inspiration he always has me pull up these specific accounts: faestock, MariaAmanda, magikstock, Tasastock, charligal-stock, kirilee, jademacalla, jasonaaronbaca, Tris-Marie, DanielleFiore, Lormet-Images, La-Esmeralda-Stock, Dewfooter, CathleenTarawhiti, HiddenYume-stock, Cassy-Blue, AilinStock, Null-Entity, IngwellRitter-Stock, lusete. It really is no secret why he is so inspired by these stock geniuses. We are continually being inspired by these wonderfully generous stock providers and we are working very hard to reach their level of creativity and quality.
What's Next for DamselStock Featuring SinisterSeth and the Costumier SewfulCreations
After 5 years of providing stock we have no intention on stopping now. A few of Seth's upcoming shoots will be a Pirate Cabin Boy with authentic costume and props, an Elven Ranger (think a young Legolas) with numerous props and several weapons, kirilee would approve! We also have a post-apocalyptic shoot and a steampunk shoot planned but the shoot he is most anxious to do is a Gothic Violinist as he has a Stradivarius violin and an awesome Victorian costume. Seth's father will join Seth for a couple of shoots including the Pirate shoot as the Captain, a Peter Pan & Captain Hook shoot, Aladdin & the Genie (we have some absolutely gorgeous fabrics and trims from India to make Genie's costume plus some beautiful Middle Easter Punjabi style shoes with the curled up toe. They were custom made to match our fabric.), 18th Century Aristocratic Vampire father and son in proper 18th Century French attire (one of Seth's favorite clothing eras is the 18th Century; he just loves to dress up).
My best friend, RevandaPosey will be making her stock debut as The Queen of Sheba and she has managed to blackmail my brother into posing as King Solomon, though not sure how she did it. Revanda also wants to do quite a few more shoots such as a true black woman Voodoo Priestess, Civil War era servant/Mammy as from Gone With the Wind, a African/Moorish woman during the Renaissance era, and many more that she keeps coming up with nearly weekly. I cannot keep up with what all she wants to do but she says she wants to use stock to break out of her shyness shell.
